New workflow triggers: webhooks and routines
Available now in your account.
What it is
Two new ways to start a workflow: a call from any external system, or a schedule with no ticket or record attached.
Webhook-triggered workflows are useful for: reacting to alerts from monitoring tools, picking up events from other business apps, or kicking off automations from scripts.
Scheduled workflows are useful for: nightly cleanups, recurring reports, periodic syncs, and routine checks.
Why it matters
Monitoring tools and business apps can now trigger work in Atomicwork directly. Routine jobs can also run on a schedule without needing a ticket to attach to.
What’s new
- Each webhook workflow gets its own endpoint. Any HTTP call to it starts the workflow, and the data sent with the call can be used inside the workflow
- Scheduled workflows run on their own, like a cron job without needing a request, user, or any other record to run on.
How it works
Create a webhook workflow and point your monitoring tool, app or script at the endpoint it generates. For scheduled workflows, set the schedule and you’re done. Both are switched on globally.
